About this Episode
In this episode of The Chris and Andre Show, Joe Michilot joins the guys again to discuss AITA, new food locations in Wilmington, Ghostbusters: Afterlife and more pop culture, lots of sports, and close things out with a long conversation on marriage, separation, divorce, and life.
(00:00:00) Intros - The guys welcome back Joe Michilot once again!
(00:02:05) AITA? - The guys introduce another new segment this week, where Chris picks a story from the “Am I The Asshole?” subreddit and reads it outloud, then the guys debate whether or not the person is indeed the asshole. This week’s story features a gregarious husband who feels it’s his right, neigh his duty, to invite friends and colleagues over and have his wife cook and clean for them. She disagrees. Is he the asshole?
(00:13:25) Cooking/Food - Chris details two of his new food discoveries in the Wilmington area that both feature delicious vegan options: first up is CRUST, which bills itself as a “grilled-cheese sandwiches for grown ups” spot and their excellent Juri sandwich. Next is STEAM, which is located right on the Cape Fear Riverfront and offers a delicious Vegan Alfredo dish. Andre shares his latest obsessions: Vegan submarine sandwiches and hashbrowns.
(00:24:35) Pop Culture - The guys have a bunch of pop culture to talk about this week, including SNL’s Man Park skit, Chris and Joe’s takes on Ghostbusters: Afterlife, more Cowboy Bebop talk, a brief foray into DnD nerdom, some Luke Cage throwback, more hate for Venom, and a rehashing of their thoughts on The Suicide Squad, this time featuring Joe’s take.
(01:02:28) Sports - Joe checks out and plays video games for a bit while Chris and Andre talk sports, including the results from last week’s NC State vs. UNC football game, the start of college basketball season for NC State and UNC, and which QB they would rather have right now: Cam Newton or Russell Wilson.
(01:15:33) Life - Joe checks back in to share some very personal details about his struggles with PTSD, depression, and more. Chris and Andre both share their personal insights and experiences with marriage, separation and divorce.
